Europe's Leading Dining & Restaurants Apps: Q4 2020 Trends

The final quarter of 2020 showcased some intriguing trends for the top dining and restaurants applications in Europe. Compiled data from Sensor Tower grants us an overview of how these apps fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.

McDonald’s - Non-US showed a fluctuating download pattern starting with approximately 565K in the last week of September and peaking at nearly 734K towards the end of October. Weekly active users began at 8.1M and saw a decrease to 6.6M by the year's end.

Similar to McDonald's, Burger King® downloads started at around 328K and experienced a general decline, finishing at about 254K. The app's weekly active users mirrored this trend, starting with 3.15M and slightly increasing to 3.06M by the close of December.

KFC: Food delivery. downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight uptick from 213K to 249K over the quarter. Weekly active users for KFC saw a progressive increase from 2.67M to 2.91M, indicating a growing user base.

Domino's Pizza Delivery observed a somewhat steady downloads trend, starting at 132K and ending the quarter at 145K. Active users showed a slight drop from 645K to 673K during the same period.

Lastly, the Subway® - Official App downloads saw a significant spike in mid-October reaching 175K from a starting point of 35K. However, there was a decline towards the end of the quarter with downloads at around 46K. Weekly active users peaked at 223K in early December but dropped to 136K by the year's end.
